New 10gallon planted tank

I would like to make my 10 gallon tank as low tech as possible. It is fully cycled. Ammonia 0ppm, Nitrites 0ppm, and Nitrates read less than 10 ppm. I have 3 Water Wisteria plants that are about 12 inches high, 2 ~6inches high, and 2 ~3 inches high. I also have a clump of hornwort floating around the top of the tank. I have a male guppy and two very pregnant female guppies. I also have a Schistura ??? (loach) I am still trying to get an id for it. I am using a 14W CFL rated at 5500K. I would like to add some kind of low ground cover for the guppy fry. Either some kind of grass or moss type plant. Any suggestions or ideas of what else I might consider? Eventually I would like to be able to go without the filter since the filter drives the CO2 out of the tank. Right now I have it running as slow as it can go and both fish and plants seem quite happy. Thank you for any insight or help.

With that light, I'd suggest doing a moss carpet. Marsilea minuta might work, but you may need to add a second bulb.

If you are trying to keep fish in that tank, I don't think removing your filter altogether is a viable option. You could look into one of the mini canister filters, and I think there is a good DIY to make a small, cheap one ($30 or less) on either this site or APC. If you're going to have a fish that's not a beta, you need filtration.

edit: This is the filter I was talking about.
