There is a local AM station that plays beach, boogie and blues music. Last Friday they played a song that was a real hoot. Do you remember the old song "Sixty Minute Man"? They played it's "sequel". It was ole Dan singing "Can't do 60 No More." It was a scream. I didn't know that the "sequel" came out in 1954 and "SMM" came out in 1951.

awesome post, links and all. Green grass and high tides kicks major ass!! I love the classic songs that are 10+ minutes with straight instrumental jamming sessions. Pink Floyd is great for that.
Rush 2112 full version (one whole side of the record lol) xanadu, yyz
Peter Frampton- do you feel like i do
Live Zeppelin- would often jam in the middle of songs. Best version of stairway to heaven I'v ever heard is on the How the West was Won live triple disc from recordings of a 1972 concert. Jimmy Page wails the guitar.
Iron Butterfly- in-a-gadda-da-vida (In the garden of edan) Basically they were trashed on acid so thats how it came out lol, the good ol 1960's http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xz6...dadavida_music

I listen to music in phases it seems. Ill go from hard Pantera/white zombie to like some Johny Cash, Niel Young, Allman bros, Marshal Tucker Band etc. Personally I think the 60's and 70's were the best music era's. Comparing music from then (all genres) to music now (all genres). It's almost a shame. It's just to diverse now to ever experience something like that again culturally. Which sucks kinda. The kind of music that is liked by almost everyone. Any old head that grew up in those era's has countless stories of going to sell out concerts back then. Hell 30 years later those bands still draw mass crowds with 100+ dollar ticket prices. I can't name any new band that will be doing that 30+ years from now.

Rock on!!

led zeppelin is my all time favorite

i listen to alot of country (sugarland, keith urban, lady antebellum, miranda lambert, ) and classic rock. but i also love the white stripes, incubus, my chemical romance...

the only things i usually can't stand is techno of any sort/drum and bass type stuff

im not going to critisize what people listen to but al of the rap that is made lately is so weak. but there are a few guys keeping it real and older stuff. Immortal technique, wu tang, 7l & esoterics, public enemy... these are a completely different styles but The allman brothers band, and grateful dead are my favorites. AND Slightly Stoopid has awesome tunes.

I'm strictly a classical music fan - from Bach to Beethoven to Wagner to Copeland. My radios are essentially frozen on the NPR classical music station here.
