I hadn't noticed, but that does look like a palaudarium doesn't it? Half full of water, emergent plants, but no planters mounted on the glass, so not a riparium.

Hoppy, I'm new here and have gotten so much help from others, I'd love to participate in a project like this. Just let me know what happens next.

Here is an interesting project for a Texas school: http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/p...html?id=312994 Let's help them get a "river tank" set up. Just click the link and donate whatever you can afford.

I just donated myself. Only $274.00 to go, to help this class with their river tank set-up and get those fish out of "random beakers"! :-)

Thank you Twimbo, you were very generous! Now, who is next? Remember, even $10 is a big help here. And, multiple donations from TPT members is great PR for our group.

Looks like they still need some donations for this project!

"Because of this, one of the big projects my class was going to do was creating a river tank, but, over the summer, someone stole our huge, never been taken out of the box, aquarium out of my classroom. My students were devastated.

Currently, my students collect samples from the drainage ditch in front of our school, and because of this we have lots of random beakers with fish in them, waiting for their permanent home.

Luckily, a sweet biology teacher gave us her 30 gallon aquarium, so all we need now is the river tank mold, animal set, and plant set to get our tank running. Once we have the river tank completed, our fish will be placed in their permanent residence"

None of us should feel obligated to donate at all, but certainly not to donate the majority of the requested funds. If just a small fraction of the people who read this forum were to kick in $10 this teacher's aquarium would be back in business.

Read that, then feel inspired to donate to our current project. Our little donations really do help a lot.

Hey Hoppy & Paulrw, wouldn't it be nice if we could get one more person to donate $10 to this project?

461 people visiting here right now, so you would bet that among those must be at least 10 who would donate $10 each. Maybe they just can't see this, hidden among so many subjects. If I had the programming skills, and was daring enough I would make this thread flash sparkling lights so it would stand out. Or, perhaps just a loud "Hey YOU" when people enter the lounge?

Wouldn't you know, its the project that I decide to give to, that stalls. Its been over a week and we only have three donors.

http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/p...html?id=312994

One more donation of $10, would give this project some momentum.
