I sure hope that you have a great and safe time. And, I wish that you could bring some sacks of Apistos back.

Some of the others are planning to, I think. Gary is a total Apisto nut, plus he's really into pencilfish... so we'll see how that goes. It will be an interesting experience, how the customs process works and all, I've never travelled with live animals, much less been with anyone importing.

Yeah, I think all the others who are going are from California. There's me from FL, Gary's from Canada, and the others are from Cali... a rather mixed bag of us! LOL

Hydrophyte, thanks for that little glass container suggestion, I talked with our contractor and he got the glass for it and is helping me put it together (Now I just have to get it there without breaking it...)

I'm getting SO excited; leaving in just over a week!

I can't wait to hear about your adventure and see some pictures. It sounds as though you have the idea of how to put the photography enclosure together. I had meant to post a picture of it but then went and forgot.

Did you use some sort of glue on the weather stripping to hold it to the glass? That's the part I keep meaning to ask.

As I recall that weather stripping had sticky adhesive on each side, exposed by pulling away the protective tape covering. I did use little dabs of silicone sealant in each corner to make a watertight seal.

Wow!! Unreal!!

Can't wait to here how goes!

Be safe and use a lot of sunscreen. The shots for malaria aren't 100 % protective against malaria.

Yeah, I know. I've had some friends who came down with malaria so I know it's nothing to mess around with. I've already stocked up on enough sunscreen and bug spray (got the good old heavy-duty DEET stuff) to last a whole year, I think LOL

I haven't picked up my meds yet (got both Malarone and the doc gave me a prescription for Cipro just in case - yeck) so I'm nervous about whether or not my insurance will cover them? I've already spent well over $500 just for all my shots and Visa application!

Have a great time! I think I may have posted in another thread or something but might as well say it again if I did.

I know people are probably asking you all kinds of crazy things, but if you could, try to be on the lookout for some moss? I'm sure there also are a number of cool inverts too.

Stay Safe,
-Andrew

Andrew, unfortunately there's no way I'll be able to bring back any plants. I know I won't be able to get the phyosanitary certs and such that are required.

Not sure at all about inverts, but currently my plans don't involve bringing back anything alive.

Well be on the lookout for them with your camera?

Seriously though, have a great trip.
