Dude, that's like posting a bare tank and saying a sprig of moss on a rock makes it count as planted.

Looks nice!

What are you planning on putting in it? Are those little zoanthids I see?

Yeah, they are little hitch hikers. I've counted 12 so far. One brown and the rest are blues and greens. I want a variety of rics, zoas, acans and maybe a birdsnest. As far as fish go, A nice goby/ shrimp and maybe a clownfish or two (I'm still not sure on what exactly would be too much for my little 10 gallon.)

Very soon, I'm going to do an all Zoo's nano reef. There are some awesome Zoo's available now. Add a shrimp, maybe a Goby and a Hawk of some variety that won't get too big. I really like the Flame's but they may be too big for a 10.

I'd avoid any large shrimp, they like to pick at corals if food is scarce, I'd go with something small like sexy shrimp. A goby and clowns would also do well in there.

Zoas and Ricordias are among my favorites, birdsnest are cool too!

Less attitude please. CL contributes a lot of nice planted tanks to this site as well as a lot of good info. This may be a planted tank forum, but I don't see anything wrong with CL sharing another facet of the hobby with us.

I was thinking of adding a sexy shrimp. I can't wait for my tank to cycle!

If it was a finished tank and CL was showing it off, then maybe he would be 'fishing' for praise, but considering he is an active member, a regular contributor, and a facet of information and inspiration, I think his journeys and chronicals of a new tank in the making fit into the 'Journal' section.

CL- is a Saltwater tank as hard as it sounds? I've heard they are really easy, it's just the start up cost that is a PIA.
I've been wanting to do a saltwater tank for some time, with some small specimens, but am intimidated by the sounds of it.

Yeah, I was intimidated too. It really isn't hard at all so far. It just has a high initial start up cost. I really like it and there are so many little critters in it, it is fun to watch even though it's empty

So this is where all your money is going. Have anymore planted stuff for sale to support your awesome reef tank?

hey, just out of curiosity, why didn't you put this in the 'got reefs' (or something like that) thread. not bashing or anything, but that would have eliminated the negative posts.

btw - looks like you are off to a good start.

I don't think the posts are meant to be "negative" at all. I like clwatkin10's tanks as much as the next guy and understand he's one of the more active members on the forums, but I think allowing saltwater tanks in the journals could become confusing. Making exceptions based on status isn't quite right, and allowing saltwater tanks would detract from the original intent of this forum. People scroll through expecting to look at freshwater planted tanks, not saltwater. If everyone posted their non-planted tanks, we'd have a problem.

I totally forgot about that thread. My bad. I thought about putting it in the lounge, and I'm not quite sure why I didn't...

Yeah, I didn't think about others having reefs. If this is a problem, the mods should feel free to move it to wherever it belongs. Maybe another subforum type thing like the paludarium section, but then again, there aren't necessarily plants in here. Oh well. I was really tired last night and a lot of stuff didn't occur to me. Sorry folks.
