Why would you get a mac these days unless you wanted a pretty case? The hardware is pretty much the same. Hackintosh it.

Or, get Ubuntu. It's Linux for windows users. At least that's how I feel.

Ah, if I was only as computer literate as you. Being an AARP member my brain has too much in it as it is. The more stuff I put in the more stuff falls out the other side. So learning or Hackintoshing it is definitely not in my vocabulary.

Guess, those machines are made for folks like me.

My computer is toast and I can't even put butter on it because of my cholesterol level!!!

Gggrrraaaaaaaawwhhhhh!!!!!

The stuff came back.
when i turned on the computer it was lagging and doing funny stuff.

i had this wierd icon on my desktop, looked like a little gear. i cant remember exactly what it was titled now, i just deleted it. it was called something like "delstp" and there was another just titled "a." they were apparently ms dos files. when i opened them, it was like POOF! the computer shut itself down, restarted and then the fake spyware alerts and bad stuff was back.

my guess is that the antivirus2009 (actually the virus..) software leaves behind little things for you to click on in hopes that you never get rid of it.

im running malwarebytes anti malware at the moment. tomorrow im going to get ad aware and spybot and all the other goodies, then scan a thousand times over.

You have to edit your registry to remove it completely. That is, if you don't have a good program that will do it for. IME, spybot search and destroy works very well, as does AVG Free. If you want to edit your own registry (do so at your own risk!), click here for a how-to guide. I know this is marked as being for AV2008, but it should be the same procedure for AV2009. Best of luck to you.
