this is not really true, it is still dissolved co2. The part that becomes carbonic acid cant be absorbed by plants

I actually like the Flourish root tabs but I would go with the wonder grow tabs out of the 2 you are deciding from

My wish list:

75 or 90 gallon tank

Neither? Why do you need to fertilize the substrate? Why would you want to "spot" fertilize a plant? You know what I fertilize both my tanks with? A 1/8 teaspoon. That's all, no fancy tabs, or pipettes, etc. You really don't need much crap to have perfectly running tanks.

As far as how to diffuse DIY CO2 in a ten gallon tank, I would recommend the Limewood Diffuser as well. They do make a faint chirping noise, but it can be heard from my glass diffuser as well. Just place it under your filter, and forget about it for a month or so, then pull it out, put a new one in, lay the old one in the sun to dry, and sand off the outside layer. Good as new!

Some of my plants aren't growing (either that or they're growing very slowly), and I think it's because of the lack of nutrients. I'm getting dry ferts soon, will these help it grow

Do you think I should get a canister filter? Because the output from the power filter keeps on blowing all the plants around (yeah I have the water filled up to the rim, but I can't keep on refilling the water every day when it evaporates)

If so, which canister filter is under $90 and would work for a 10 gallon tank?

Yes, a 2213 from bigals should come in at under $90

I've got an XP1 on my 10gal (flow is pretty strong) and got it on Ebay for $65 shipped.

lol, there's a guy in the S&S selling a 2215 for $40 plus shipping (I'm guessing around $15, that's what it was for my 2217 from him. He mailed it priority today, so it should get here weds. or thurs. )

Well the thing I'm debating is the priming stuff...is it easy to prime? And what is priming?

Priming isn't hard. Just fill up the canister with dechlorinated water, hook it up, and plug it in

So the Eheim classic series you're saying are (supposedly) the "best"? What about filter maintenance? Like replacing/cleaning the media?

And is it ok if I place it at the same level as my tank?

Cleaning couldn't be much easier, gravity takes care of priming, but it needs to be below the tank.

You have 1,100 posts, and don't have a canister filter or ferts? What have you been talking about?
