!! 17 watts on a 20g high help !!


I have a 20g High Convict Cichlid aquarium with Java moss and fern, The problem only 1, 17 watt florecent tube for lighting! Is that enough for the ferns and moss???? Do I need to get a new light, even if I stick with Java fern, Java moss and Anubias petite? Please help an algea grower! Thanks!

I don't think you need more light for the plants you have now. If you want to add light, just add another fluorescent tube light that fits your tank

Java Fern, Java Moss and Anubias definetely don't need that much light, but less than 1 wpg might be too little. How long have you had them and do you see any dying leaves?

I have had them for a little over a month, and yes they do have dieing leaves): I was an idiot and got them from Petsmart even though they looked bad.
