Hagen Glo T5HO Mounting

Dang I just noticed the way that the fixture mounts with the brackets...Seems to work for a rimless, but not an aquarium with a rim. Has anyone modified the rim or found a solution for this? Trying to get this on my 40 Gal breeder 36x18x18... Thanks!

I can get it on my Oceanic 120s (5+ yr old models) but it is a very tight fit. In the end (before I replaced them), I just used the bracket on the edge of the trim. I props the light about 1/4"

ya, I would like to get the extra 2" height and the cleaner look if I can. It seems i can force them on but it is a very tight fit, seems stirdy enough. I have mixed thoughts on which would be better/ safer tho....

With the tight fit, it was sturdy. I can't remember ever knocking off accidently.

Safer is with the mounting hardware or hanging them.

I'm selling mine now so let me know if you know someone in or near Austin that may be interested.

I looked at that picture again. I had mine pressed all the way against the top of the trim. I think I had to remove the gripping pad to get it to slid and rest on the trim.

Good to see you got that figured out. You really just have to open it up the whole way then tilt it forward until it catches on the rim then your set. I just got one of these off ebay yesterday.
