Screw in Lamps

Alright so I'm getting a 20 Watt Coralife mini bulb, but I need to screw it in something. I should be able to screw it in any type of regular lamp correct?

Here's the thing, I want it to screw into a pendant type lamp where I can hang up, but the light is usually too long. Would I need a splashguard type deal to protect the light bulb from water? or would I not need one, like a piece of acrylic to protect my light bulb. See if I don't need one, then I can keep going with the pendant idea, but if I do, I face a dilemma. In order to put a splash guard, the light bulb must be inside the lamp itself, so the lamp would have to have a horizontal screw in, but those are hard to come by. So if you skimmed over the above, here's all you basically need to read, because it's the main question, and for your convenience, I'll even bold it , do I need a splash guard (piece of acrylic) to seperate the water to the light bulb, so it doesn't damage it
