Look on the bulb, are there any markings?

Yeah it looks like they sent me the 12000k bulb by accident. Unfortunately, they want me to mail the bulb back to them and my family has already recycled the packaging in their insane desire to clean for the out of town visitors. I have a feeling they're not going to be able to send me more packaging so I might have to see if I can get it swapped locally.

I'm not sure yet how I want the burst to work so I let the bulbs run all together today. Man, just about every single speck of algae and a good portion of my plants were pearling like crazy. My l. cuba stems that i chopped down in the back were letting off huge bubbles of oxygen.

Get them to send you the bulb first. Use the same box and re-ship the bulb to them. Of course, make sure they send you a return shipping label so you don't have to pay to ship it to them.

Oh, the bulb box.

Once you fire a bulb, I'm not sure if they can sell it again. shrug.

Maybe you should call and ask...they might not even care.

You could try looking for a reefer that might be interested in the 12000k bulb and trade him for a 10000k or just sell it and buy a new 10000k.

Yeah, they said they didn't want the bulb back without the package but would send on the correct one when it was back in stock. It doesn't say it's out of stock so I don't know why they're saying it is, but I hope they send it along soon.

Default Lighting Diagram

Okay, now that I've got my lights in there I need to come up with a good lighting schedule. Running all the bulbs at once all day is not the best idea lol. My plants love it and pearl constantly but I don't have enough plant mass and I'm getting a nice film of green algae on the glass.

Here's what my lights look like now so I need to decide which two bulbs to turn off most of the day and on for a burst. I'm thinking two PC bulbs since they're wired two bulbs per ballast.

I'll also probably have to move the end caps around since I think the two bulbs on the left and the two bulbs on the right are wired together.

Hm would it be better to turn off one whole row across or a bulb from each row?

Keep whatever gives you the most even lighting. I'd experiment if possible, but something tells me turning off an entire row may do it for you.

Yeah right now I've got it staggered so the two 6700k/10,000k bulbs are off and I think it makes some dark spots. I was thinking of turning off the front row of PC bulbs as opposed to the back and then have them come on for maybe 4 hours in the middle of the day?
