Will This Work For 10 Gal

i picked up two desk lamps for practical nothing that use these bulbs:

Clean Air Shop - solar energy products, rechargeable batteries and chargers, air purifiers and energy efficient products for clean air.

if i cannibalized the two lamps and fitted that to my hood, would that be sufficient lighting for a 10 gal? im new to the smaller tanks, this one is for my office at work.

27 watts each, 54 watts total. Inefficient reflectors and re-strike puts you at about 40-45 watts. Enough for a 10 gallon...even some of the more demanding plants, I would think. I wouldn't jump right into a glosso or HC carpet though.
