How sad is it that Kansas doesn't have a single comment to make on aquariums? I would enjoy and information on organizations around Kansas City for aquarium hobbiest, especially for those willing to start a plant/fish trading forum.

I'm in manhattan, not very many pet stores here that specialize in fish/plants.
Well there is one, but its horrid. Will have to make the trip to wichita this upcoming weekend and see if I can find anything. That rainbow fish store mentions they have CO2 equipment, do they sell tanks or just regulators and stuff? I need to get my 55 gal setup this weekend!

I just moved here from Dallas, TX. I have had problems locating any decent aquatics stores in the Ft. Riley/Manhattan area. I got rid of most of my fish and plants before I moved, but now I would like to add some more plants to my tank...I'm looking for some Madagascar Lace specifically. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it greatly.

Katie,
Welcome to Kansas. There is a fish store on the east side of Manhattan. It's on a road that precedes I-70, going east toward to Topeka. It's fairly decent, not a lot of plants though. Lawrence has a really nice fish store, PETWORLD; a knowledgeable staff and robust variety of fish, poor plant selection though. Petland in KC is probably the best place to buy live plants in the Lawrence/KC/Topeka regions. Good luck! |
