Never liked java moss or Anubias of any kind. But I have seen them look great in other tanks. They just look messy in mine. lol

I am also thinking about getting a small piece of drift wood and putting some Anubias barteri and java moss on it, because I need some diffrent plants other than java fern.

Sorry no idea. I never had mine turn black. I have had it turn brown but new growth was nice and green so I just removed the brown.

Hi, I am prety new to planted aquariums and such so please bear with me! I only have one 20g. aquarium setup right now with slate and Java Fern which arent looking to good. They have some darker brown, almost black spots. I have heard that leaves turn brown\ black when they have an overdose of iron, but is that true?
    Thanks JakeJ
