Hello, I was wondering where all you guys get your aquarium plants from.. I have founds some sites online i.e. extraplant.us, but the shipping is steep.. I'm wondering if you guys know where the best places to buy them in the chicagoland Area..

aquarium adventure in hoffman estates gets a good collection from time to time but prices are high too. Otherwise SNS is a good place. I almost never buy plants from online retailers...too many bad experiences.

I've been told Scott's in Westchester is very good too. Just have to get in there on the few days right after their shipment. I'm hoping to stop by there Wednesday actually. I can give a report after that.

I like Aquarium Adventure, buying from sellers posting here, or buying from vendors at GCCA swaps (www.gcca.net). The next swap is March 6, but you should look at the vendor list as the date gets closer to make sure someone is selling plants (there usually is).

Yeah that is when I am going to be looking also. I have a few more fish needs (cories & plecos) that I'm going to pick up there and like to browse over the plant table.

pdavis41, please let us know what you find at Scotts. When do they get their shipment?

I was actually disappointed (plant wise) in the GCCA meet. There was only 1 guys selling his own ferns, but other than that it was all plants from vendors (i mean those who have physical and online shop) and did not believe they were any cheap.

Yeah, I seem to remember that about GCCA.

If I remember right from what I've been told they get deliveries on Mondays. But that was a while ago so that might have changed.
