rescape question
After a failed attempt to eradicate BBA in my 55 gal planted discus tank, I finally got fed up and teared all the plants out of the tank(minus 1 amazon sword plant which is older than my 4 yr. daughter). I had also removed all driftwood and soaked in H2O2 solution over night and scrubbd the heck outta them. Although I wreck havoc in my tank with all of my fish in it, I'm glad no one died.
For now I plan on leaving the lights off for a while, although I vaccum the gravel, there are still alot of hair algae scatter around grown on pebbles. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I just learn to live with algae. You can't get away from them, just minimize their spread.
Try excel in controlling the hair algae. And when you get it back up, you have to be more diligent with ferts and CO2. You might have to switch to pressurized CO2 or stick with excel.

Your sig says diy C02...
The only time I had issues with BBA was when my C02 flucuated and C02 ppms (30ppm target) inconsistencies where the norm. After a better difusser was installed and better filtration and Flow, BBA was history. I'm a firm believer in Excel as an algacide so I use both...Pressurized C02 and Excel along with whole tank current and almost all algae is gone or at least not noticable. My filtration on my 140 is a tidepool II sump, 2217 Eheim canister with dual spray bar returns on each end of tank, and a Vortex XL DE filter. Water Column is best I've ever had. All The Best Troy
