plants on driftwood

i have been trying to get my anubias to grow on my driftwood for a while. it is in my discus grow out tank so there is not alot of light or co2 or fertz but the plants leaves are growing like crazy but the plant just does not seem to want to root. it is a few different type of anubias on driftwood im running one t5ho 24" just over the driftwood ill attach a picture from a while ago so you can see the wood im using. and im using rubber bands to hold it on was using cotton thread but it desolved before they attached.

am i doing something wrong or does it usually take a long time to attach.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong...it'll take a while for it to root....you might want to use fishing line instead of rubber bands and cotton thread....as it will not rot and it looks more asthaetically pleasing than either. You can always cut them off after the plants attach.

I've always used nylon thread because it's very sturdy and invisible.

SUPERGLUE!!!

Just a few drops on the rhizome and stick it to the wood. I have done it in all 7 of my tanks. Works with Java fern also.

The wood looks OK as in it doesn't seem that smooth....I think it would take longer to attach to the branchy parts. Try wedging the plants in the crevices of the wood as that might anchor it better.
