Yes, its as easy to grow as duckweed. Just make sure there's low surface flow so they don't get stuck to the sides. It can grow quite thick, 1/8 inch below the surface if there's enough light. What are you planning on culturing it for, feeding fish?

Grows dead easy. Limit the current a bit on top , throw in a bit, blink a few times and it will have covered your tank, well maybe not that fast. It grows in the lakes around here in MN. I have heard of people using it for food. If that was my goal I would just throw some in a plastic tub, with some light and put a bit of ferts in every once in a while. It is sort of a pain in the ass because it grows as fast as duckweed but is the size of a pinhead, so it sticks to the sides worse then duckweed and just gets everywhere etc.

Not trying to feed anything, it's just one of the coolest plants on earth. Phylogenetically it's next door to the aroids which many of our house plants and aquaria plant are. If I can figure out how to get it to flower, that'd be even better!

LOL you better have a great microscope to see those flowers
not to mention being the luckiest person alive. My aquatic plant professor (over 60 years old) has been trying his whole life to see those flowers, and none of his colleagues have succeeded either!

It has to be day length then... unless there is some odd density system involved. As small as it is, it's probably some transcription factor in the cell walls... I'll have to give it a look.
