i can't wait to get the plants in there! I think this is going to be a great tank! So far it has been affordable and fun! Lets see if that changes!

I need opinions on fertilizers!!! My sand is pool sand, so I am guessing I will have to dose everyday. no big deal, i just don't know what to buy.

Here are the plants that will be going in on Monday:

5x5 piece of HC
Brazilian pennywart
Lotus
crypts
rotala
najas grass
difformis
and some others...

edit:

add Water Sprite to the list

nice !! I want that wood I'm getting ready to fill my 75 with peat and pool filter sand too;I don't have any cool driftwood to put in it though
For ferts you'll need N,P,K and micros ( nitrogen, potassium, phoshate and Plantex CSM+B )and probably CO2 ,either pressurized (best) or Excel, or a combination of both

dry ferts from rexgrigg.com is the cheap way,the only liquid I buy is Excel

I also like the large piece on the left side. It would look great with some moss and or anubias! The long piece at an angle looks good too. I think the other 2 pieces should be removed though. They look out of place. I look forward to seeing this with plants!

once those 2 "out of place ones" get water logged I will will just cover them in some moss or something, they are really just in there like that to sink.

update, so i 3was fishing today in a private pond and I saw some nice looking plants along the bank. i pulled them up and rinsed them and had them IDed here on the forum as HM and Creeping Jenny. I did a 50% water change in my empty tank (tanins) and dechlorinated it. I will get a bunch of plants tomorrow from swap and shop, so I will update this again tomorrow night.

I added the plants and here it is now:

Got some plants in today, put them in some random places for now, I have about 4x as much coming by the end of the week. I will have a better idea of what to put where. I am thinking i will get my CO2 this month as well as my new bulbs to put me over 3.5wpg. But right now it is 1.7 wpg and excel, macros and micros...

here are some pictures i took about 30 min ago, I will take more after it clears up. going to Home Depot now to buy a timer.
