advice on new path

so here is my tank as it sits now

i love my tank but haven't been able to keep it trimmed in a way that i like. i had intentions of having separate plants in the lawn but they all ended up growing into one big mess. i like the look of the pieces of wood that are now fully engulfed by the surrounding plants. i feel that my stump which also has become over grown would fit better in my 150 as opposed to the 75 gallon above. so i have started this thread to look for some advice. i have an idea of a plan as towards just having the whole tank be one ground cover plant possibly hc since i have a friend trying to give me some and put a couple pieces of my drift wood in and let moss grow on them. one of the problems i see in doing this though is actually getting all the plants out of the existing substrate. if anyone has any special techniques please let me know.

the specs on the tank.
co2 injected
lots of filtration
fluorite for substrate
3.2 watts per gallon

I don't think what you have there looks all that bad. It is a lot better looking then the tank sitting in my living room that I just hacked at.

Yeah that stump isn't really doing it for me. Other than that everything looks nice. Maybe remove the stump and fill that area with some stem plants and HC the foreground. It'll have a nice clean look in the end.
