Didn't you already have a thread about this question?

I recommend the Eheim Classic 2215 for a 30-35 gallon, however I would choose the 2217 Classic for anything larger.

I'm only familliar with Rena's canisters, they've been great for me, just keep up on your maintenance.

I've always been a Marineland fan but I have an Eheim classic 2217 due here on Monday. Thanks to lescarpentier's harassing me about my C220 ratcan.

eheim is the best brand hands down. quiet, reliable and virtually maintenance free. I set one up on a 75 gallon a few years ago and i've only had to open it 3 times.

Yes, the Marineleand C220 and the rest of this series rattles like a friggin snake. I've been through replacements and they all sound like a rattling can of rock. I wish I could say can of *** but they would probably delete that, huh?

I'm sure they filter fine, or at least 90%, but they are cheap as crap. I have around $200 invested and I'm not impressed.
