I was wondering how long it takes for a plant to attach it's roots to the substrate or a piece of driftwood. Pic #3 has really long roots. Is all I have to do is make sure it is in contact with wood? Hoping to get my light Thrusday!!!

Looks like you have that Anubias attached with thread? If that's the case I'd just leave the thread till it rots away... growth rates will vary from tank to tank?

I have it tied on there with fishing line. There were large roots on the plant when I got it.

I went to pick my light today and when I got it home I noticed it was a 24" not a 30". So I have to take it bakc and hope the 30 comes in tomorrow. If not I'll have to wait till Thursady again. I got 2 new plants today, one is a amazon sword and the other is some kind of red plant.
