aqua botanic driftwood

I really need some nice pieces of 6-12" wood for the 20-29g Im setting up and I noticed that AB has red malasian driftwood, what are peoples experiences? I was planning to get 3-4 pieces, because at about 8 bucks a piece I figure its worth it even if it not perfect and I could easily use whatever I dont use for this tank in a different tank. ideas?

Well, without going into "sales" mode and ticking people off, and since nobody else has responded, I'll just say it is like any other Malaysian driftwood. Its dense, heavy wood that sinks in water. It will color the water if you do not soak or boil it first. The wood has this reddish brown color to it. The pieces are semi branchy, log like.

Malaysian bogwood is very good stuff. I use it all my tanks....and I have collected prolly around 25 pieces in total. I love it, nice color, sinks well and plecos love to munch on it. I would say go for it!

I have some and I enjoy it but there is a couple of chunks of wood that I cant even see anymore because it has moss grown all over it. And I never really had a problem with it coloring my water but mine was presoaked I dont know what AB sales if its dry or wet.

well I ussually soak my wood 1-2 times for 20-50 min each time so coloring shouldnt be a problem.

There is another kind of sinking wood called "tambora jungle wood" . These root stumps come from the jungle of Indonesia. They are very unique looking and do NOT color the water or affect water chemistry.

I just got more
