Has anyone here had success or at least tried to make a nano planted tank?

I would like to make one in my 5.5 gallon that I have.

I want to put a small group of Kuhlie Loaches in there.

What plants did you use? Substrate?

I was thinking of adding Flourite if I can find the stuff. So far it just has gravel in it and 2 zebra danios helping the cycling of the tank

Tank specs are 5.5 gallon, 1 inch of gravel substate, numerous fake plants, 13 watt AH Supply flourescent compact, a heater set at 78 degrees and a Whisper Mini power filter.

Any advice or help would be appreciated if you have anything to offer.

Thanks for the help.

Steve,
Where in WI are you located? I know of a couple places to purchase flourite. In Milwaukee, Aquatics unlimited has it and so does Hoffers. In Oconomowoc there is Aquatic World which also has the lowest price.

Im located in the Janesville area. Thanks for telling me where I can look for some flourite.

Do any of these places have web sites?

I went to the SeaChem website the makers of Flourite and they listed as nothing in Wisconsin that sells the stuff. I guess I will check in to it.

Thanks

Aquatics Unlimited has a website- www.bestfish.com Not sure what they have on it though? They are located on Hwy. 100 just norh of Beloit Road. I'm heading there today so I'll let you know the price when I get back. They also have a pretty good selection of plants most of the time.
