For those who are so concerned about impurities in their ferts I hope you have bare bottom tanks. If you are so worried about a few specks in your ferts, there is a chance you may have a total breakdown if you picked though your substrate. I'm not trying to be mean here, I'm just asking that this fertilizer thing be put in perspective. There are a lot of people in this forum that use sand from a hardware store for a substrate. Other than partical size there is no quality control. There has been less emotion on the discussion of contaminated EcoComplete than this, and the isolated problems with EcoComplete changed water parameters! There has been no discussion of the effect(s) on water quality these impurities have, which makes it hard for me to worry. My drinking water comes from the Niagara River, you will have to excuse me if specks in my Greg Watson ferts doesn't scare me.

On-topic debates and discussions should be allowed, even if the ideas are controversial. Despite heated tempers and disagreements, new information is eventually discovered. This is historically how progress is made in any area of science, government, or any other aspect of civilized society!
I LOVE this! It is classic! Trying to turn this on us? Maven, I might not be the smartest guy in the world, but I am smart enough to see through the absolute BS you are peddling here! Don't try to play me for the fool. I have seen far more than you might imagine and dealt with too many people more skilled at being devious and on a grander level than yourself.

Lets look at it. Out of the 13 paragraphs you posted in your first thread six of them have nothing to do with contaminated fertilizers. Lets be honest here, right now and stop the nonsense and pussy footing around, they are very thinly veiled pokes at Tom Barr and Greg Watson. Right? There, it is out in the open. No more tap dancing, Maven. I said the names. You can stop hiding behind the noble cause of disseminating information and preserving civility here on Planted Tank. You are no champion. You are more the scoundrel in my opinion.

You have gone after Mr. Barr a couple of times on this thread without any provocation. I, quite frankly, can't understand what your motives are? I have no clue as to what your agenda is other than to attempt to discredit Mr. Barr. What your beef with Greg Watson might be, I can only guess. Perhaps to sabotage the business Mr. Watson has created? You may be considering entering a little business venture of your own and are angling on creating a market for your wares, that is possible, but why disparage these two men?

Your noble topic would be noble, if taken along the vein of Hypancistrus. His line of thought is based on fact (something you and the "Doctor" have never really been able to establish ). He is honestly interested in the exchange of idea. There is no ax to grind. He brought nothing to this discussion besides honesty and interest.

I have never ordered an ounce of fertilizer from Greg Watson. I have a paid subscription to Tom Barr's website. I have never asked for anything from either of theses men, or received anything. I don't know what your problem is, nor do I care. What I do care about is the fact that you have chosen this forum as one of the places to carry out your agenda. In fact, I believe you have done this twice, haven't you "Doctor"...oops! I mean Maven.

You are welcome to restart this thread, less your editorializing about how poorly the "Doctor" was treated, or how awful these forum, your chosen means of expression, are with the free exchange of information. Do that Maven, and I will be more than happy to delete this thread.

I apologize to the board members who are trying to make this thread about information, discussion, and fact.

Mike

Mike
But we all can see who is wagging a finger. My mom always said to practice what you preach, especially when people look up to you and respect you.

In my opinion you are starting to sound like Rex Grigg, and for that I am quite saddened since I find him to be so arrogant and ignorant.

Well here is some advice from the ignoramus to you LBC. You always have the option NOT to view my posts. Just go to the User CP menu and then down to the buddy/ignore area and add my name. That will keep your pristine mind from having to come in contact with my ignorant posts.

Over 5000 unique visitors to my site and you are the ONLY one who finds it confusing. But of course you are unable or unwilling to say what parts are confusing.
