Ocean Blue Aquarium in Orlando (near UCF). It's a new location on the corner of Aloma and Howell Branch Road.
Excellent selection of saltwater. I enjoy their freshwater collection because they have many fish not available at the Petsmart that I work at, and many appear healthier. And Congo Tetras are rather cheap. I am shocked to read that people are paying so much for them. I think I paid, at most, maybe $4.99? My Emperor Tetra school from them is incredible, as is my Clown Loach. Small plant selection, my only complaint. However, the anubias I did get from there are thriving beautifully. The tank setups they sell are AMAZING. |

Ocean Blue is pretty good for fishies; you'd have to look elsewhere for good plants and supplies. I have occasionally found some rarer things at Pet Bazaar in Casselberry; they're a bit too reptile focused, but they have a better cichlid/oddball selection that most LFS's.

I stopped by Ocean Blue tonight. The plant selection was pretty limited, though they did point out an area of the store that is intended to hold a plant tank...someday. They had a single planted tank with a limited selection at their previous location.
But, on a brighter side, I did buy out their total inventory of four Amano shrimp! They were $3.50 a piece, which I think is a pretty decent price. Now, being a salt water place, the first guy I asked told me (while pointing to the sign) that they were "algae-eating shrimp"

There is a place in Eustis on 441 just west of 19, next to big lots called Wayne's Pets
. http://www.waynespets.comHe has a good selection of fish both fresh and salt .he has some plants, but not a huge selection. I have dealt with them for over a year and all the staff are very knowledgeable. there are only 2 others in the area. Petsmart. and petland. i dont include walmart in this list. I will give you a warning. Petland next to the Lake Square Mall. Is not a good place to buy fish. I am in there from time to time, my son loved to look at the fish. I have seen parasites on several of the fish Tom KD4WOV |

Nope, Ocean Blue is still there. Per the card in my wallet... The address is 4270 Aloma Ave, Suite #106 (it is right next door to Gleason's Grille). The phone number is 407-679-3557. Open daily M-Sat 11-8, Sun 11-5.

I went to Seven Seas the other day. They are on the small side but very nice. They had a lot of different fishes (especialy cory's) that you don't see that much. They had the most beautiful discus I have seen in this area. They dont have much in the way of plants though. They seem to have a very good selection of salt water stuff.

Do u have to have plants in your tank to join this forum? Well anyway I go to The Aquarium Inc. occasionally they do have freshwater fish, they looked closed when u drive but there not. They have a massive massive tank in a shape of a ball with i think piranhas and a few oscars.
Hmm i dont want to bash them but they do have huge fish in lil aquariums that they're sellin for instance i saw a clown knife in this itty bitty thing couldnt move at all. But.. I think if the hurricanes didnt knock out there front part of the store it wouldnt be in that condition. Oh yea does anyone know of a store that has some oddballs near the Eatonville area? |
