In the past 2 months I think I've been to most of the fish stores around here so I might be able to help. What oddballs are you looking for? Oh and no you don't neec to have a planted tank to be here.

Not something I'd normaly be looking for but I'd give Ocean blue a call they have stuff that is a little off the beaten path. If they don't have any go see the guys at Pet Bazzar in casselberry. They wont have one but if they can get one they will bring it in. I'm prety sure I havent seen a Gnathonemus petersii recently though.

Wookie,
If you're ever in need of something "off the beaten path" like an elephant fish in the future, call Ocean Blue. They would be happy to help you out... They can get their hands on most anything.

They have some elephants in stock now. Bottom left hand tank with the glass knives and wood shrimp. Right above those are their cherry shrimp .

I haven't found Ocean Blue yet... but I called the phone number and they answered.... So I know they exist. Just where they exist is unknown to me. I've driven up and down Aloma in that area and cannot find it! ><

It is on Aloma, so you're on the right track

It's at the intersection where Howell Branch meets Hall Rd, at Aloma. Basically it's west of Tuskawilla and East of Goldenrod. There's a big plaza on the corner (Aloma and Howell Branch) with a KFC, McDonalds, Publix, Blockbuster, and a slew of other things. They are in that plaza all the way to the right, next to Gleasons Grille.

Good luck. Maybe I'll see you there.

I visited RBC Aquarium and Pets on north OBT yesterday. It seemed ok - not great, but ok. The normal fish selection, really cheap feeder fish and shrimp. They had a lot of equiptment and lighting. They had some huge koi! I have to go back there soon. I broke.. I mean... need to return the light fixture I bought. Turned it on and the switch broke. I'm such a horrible klutz.
