Discus in Tampa area

Anyone know where to buy Discus in the Tampa area? I am hearing there are shops in Pinellas County, but I'm in east Pasco, so it's a haul.

Anything in Hillsborough County, Pasco County, or NW Polk (Lakeland)??

Thanks! I'll check them out this weekend. I'm still getting my ph just right for them.

Confirmed. Fish World has some larger ones in stock, and they are hoping to have some smaller guys next week.

Thanks again!

Go to SimplyDiscus.com and see if there any local breeders. You will normally get healthier stock from breeders, plus they will usually always cheaper.

BTW, no need to really adjust pH for the discus.

The fish store @ Armenia & waters, next to the Winn Dixie ( don't know the name) has them...I saw them today.

Don't know about the PH thing?? but I believe they use RO water to obtain the desired conditions??

If you want to ship from a good breeder in Miami (Jack Wattley) , check out http://www.wattleydiscus.com/. Or else ask someone at TBAS, I know there are breeders up there. You could probably get the same fish in the stores from the same source before they go through all that stress, plus you can trace the lineage of your fish and be more secure that they'll be a strong strain, which IMO is very important if I'm spending that kind of money.

Just make sure your KH and GH are consistent with soft water, forget pH, too many other factors involved that have nothing to do with soft vs hard water.

Replying to my own post, but I was recently at Nolan's in Lakeland, and they had some 3" or so Discus.
