Hey group,
If you have been following the other thread it seems the idea is still there but the person who started the thread has become very inactive or disinterested. I am still interested in the club idea. Here are my thoughts: Club Ideas: Objective: To bring geographically close aquatic plant enthusiast together to discuss/trade plants, fish, and dry goods. Structure: Very informal. Maybe a president or something of the sort that is just in charge of keeping the groups info. Cost: No dues for the club. Only cost would be if we all decide to rent a space for meetings (but I think a restaurant or even a LFS would do just fine, and then the only cost would be food at the restaurant, and if your like me $582,748,752,834,700.99 at the LFS buying aquaria supplies) General Ideas: I could set up a members website, something similar to plantedtank.net where we could discuss specific ideas around Orlando (LFS, meetings, what not) if the group would be interested. Let me know guys!

Excellent! I've been thinking about trying to contact Jim K off-line, but this approach is even better. Though the time might be short over the holiday break, I was still thinking of suggesting we meet out in the picnic table area of Joe's Crab Shack up near Sanford. It's right off of I-4 and might be convenient. If someone can suggest another location near the south end of I-4, that would work also.
Good work, Daniel! The site looks pretty sweet for a start.

Finally we've got something to call our own! I am currently in the process of setting up my 20 gal tall and the only thing I have in there is about 3 inches of Florite mixed with Onyx sand and a beautiful piece of malaysian bogwood with a java fern attached to it. If anyone is willing to part with some clippings, I would be willing to come pick them up if possible.
Thank you and God willing, this will become a succesful group! |

Also if anyone knows of a good LFS that carries a good selection of plants and/or fish in Orlando, please let me know. I am tired of the Petco's, Petlands in my area that have nothing but terrestrial/bog plants for sale that wither and die quickly and pollute your aquarium. Please help!

You can check out this thread for some fish stores:
http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9768 Last week, I traded in a handful of plants at Ocean Blue. I'm sure they'll have some left. Also, next time I do some trimming I'll try to remember to PM you. If you don't hear from me in a while, feel free to drop me a PM. Check out my photo gallery entry and let me know what looks interesting !
