depends on how you hardscape it. 3 pairs would be pushing it, but if the tank is heavily planted AND has something that breaks it up into three distinct territories, you might get away with it. Rams don't stick to the bottom like some other dwarfs though, so it may be hard to do. IIWY, I'd make two territories, and have two pairs. Be prepared to pull one pair out though. Another thing you could do is try a trio (m,f,f,), and in the other territory, try a pair of apistogramma.
