Cory died last night

Hey all,
I ahve a question. One of my Cory Cats died last night. I kinda expected it because it had this wierd look to it. for the last probably three weeks the mouth and belly looked realy red almost like blood and It had lost its barbals.
the wierd thing is he looked fine and seemed to eat fine.

Does anyone know what this could have been?
