How many mollies would I need to keep the surface of a 55gal (210ltr) tank clear?
Does enyone know about the platys? I find them much more attractive than mollies.

My simple 10 gal planted was established with 1 platy (a red wag). He survived and then is added a female. From ther they established the tank through several generations (actually for about 8 years LOL).

There was the initial surface scum with went away after the fish was introduced. Took a maximum of aboout a week or two. Once gone, the scum never returned.

I'm pretty sure platys will get rid of the surface scum. I have 5 red velvet swordtails in my 75 gal and they're always filtering the surface. 8)
