Strange otto, help please

Ive searched a lot and read on otocinclus.com but this is strange. he likes to lay on the dw or sit on the plants, but I never see him sucked on to anything. My old oto was always sucked on the glass and what not. Im sure hes eating, becuase he is pooping. Sometime i see him doing a jaws impression on dw and plants, shaking back and forth rapidly. Is this normal for these guys?

How long you had 'em?

(Btw is that a dwarf puffer on your icon? Getting some next Friday)

Usually, they're fairly active. Give it some time and see if he'll cheer up and liven up. If it continues, something is wrong.

IDK what you mean by "jaws impression"- is he scratching himself, like he might have parasites?

If they have a big round stomach, maybe they are full?

My oto would often rest on a piece of algae wafer (or plant) for a long time, but not sucking on it.
To me, it looked like they were too full, and needed rest.

But then I often see them sucking on the glass and plant too..

Try dropping some algae wafers or something into the tank and see if he reacts.

If you can, try moving him out of the tank into a seperate container that's around 70-75F and monitor him for a few days and see if his behavior changes while in there.

Ottos tend to be pretty skitish when kept in groups of less than 3....
