whats the average life span of a tetra?

yeah, my dyed tetras seemed to survived all the disease outbreaks during my early years of the hobby
i guess if they can survive being dyed then they can survive anything
they're tough little critters

I've had my rummy nose tetra for 3-4 years now.. I think they were a year old when I got them.
