Question

can i just plop my big yellow snail in my other tank?


i was wondering if i could just plop my big yellow snail in my 46 gal from my 60 gal or do i have to put it in a bag and let him get use to the water temp and parematers and so forth thanks

im sure the snail would be happier acclimated, but it would probably survive just being dropped right in. i do that when i transfer my snails, but they are just the tiny hitch-hiking kind, not the ones you pay for. but i have seen LFS people do this with marine animals (which are supposedly more sensitive). i have seen it done with a xenia, and clownfish. im not sure about the xenia, but the clown was fine.

just drop him in. I move snails around all my tanks in that way and have never had a problem with that.
