I have them in a tank with forktail rainbows, cardinals, rummynoses, rasbora briggitae, cherry barbs, amano shrimp, and appistos... no issues with them at all. The males flair at each other but they don't make contact.

What are your tetras and shrimps? Size of tank? Please post a list of every fish you have where you plan to keep the rainbows. Most tetras are nasty enough to rip off all their "filaments". Expect to get more male threadfin rainbows than females.
