female bettas and endler fry

Quick question. I have a 10 gal. "sin bin" (endler breeding tank) that I am thinking of housing 2 or 3 female bettas in while the males tend to the home tanks. Am I going to have a problem with the bettas picking off the endler fry?

Thanks.

most likely, but not neccissarily. i have guppies in my community tank with boesemani rainbows, danios, and other greedy fish but the fry are completely ignored.

My bettas always loved fry. Would hunt all around the tank for them.

You need to have at least 3 female betta in the tank (4 or 5 is better). That way the aggression is spread around. Now saying that...the more Betta the less fry. I had 14 girls in a 55g with my endlers and they devastated the population! I have now removed my females into 2 separate tanks to breed. I have about 30 or more fry at the moment and have removed/rehomed 6 of the the betta and plan on replacing the endlers as soon as I have enough to ensure my colony will survive. I have also added more plants for the fry to hide in.

My betta have gotten along fine with the endler adults.

Depending on the females, you may also need dividers. I also agree with SuzieQ- anytime I've ever tried to keep 2 or 3 females in the same tank I've always had one become dominant and bully the others to the point of jumping out of the tank!
