Feisty Endler

My endler fry are beginning to mature, and one male is definitely a few weeks older than the rest. He's colored up and he's been aggressively pursuing my two female platy fry which are now a little over half an inch big. They're MUCH plumper than he is, given how thin and narrow male endlers are, and I think he's very confused.

I just want to be able to confirm that there's no possibility of a cross happening. I know about platy/swordtail crosses and endler/guppy, and I've heard of a couple strange molly crosses. But endler/platy?

well he may think its an endler female, all livebearer males are smaller and thinner then females. but i dont know if they can produce viable offspring.

Platy belong to the genus Xiphophorus.

Endler's livebearer's belong to the genus Poecilia.

If fish belong to the same genus they can crossbreed. If they do not, then they can't.

I think it happened before in endlersr.us But I think its rare for that to happen so don't worry.
