I think you need to do a little more research first.

Dwarf puffers are freshwater puffers, but they are very aggressive and should only be kept in species only tanks. Some people have had success keeping them with otos, but that is about it. So no, you cannot keep kuhli loaches with dwarf puffers. In a 5.5 gallon, you should only get one dwarf puffer.

Also, dwarf puffers don't always eat snails. Lots of times they will slurp the snail out of the shell, and leave the rest of the snail in there to rot. You need to clean out any empty snail shells so they don't pollute your tank.

Check out www.dwarfpuffers.com for more info on them, or www.thepufferforum.com

I strongly disagree with the aggression point. I've kept these fish in community tanks with no problems - even kuhli loaches.

The aggression point is a myth derived from brackish water puffers, imo.

Then you got lucky.

My brackish water figure 8's were not nearly as aggressive as the dwarf puffers. Dwarf puffers are really sneaky too, they won't attack something else while you are standing there looking at them. They wait until your back is turned, and next thing you know your fish start coming up missing.

Mine seems to be most aggressive towards his own kind. But he did kill a guppy I threw in there to check his friendliness. Currently, mine is in a 5g with only 2 bristlenose pleco as tankmates.

I currently have a dwarf puffer with 7 cardinals and 7 white clouds. He doesnt seem to have any agression against them.

I got a female dwarf puffer in my 30g with 6 Dario Darios 2 Killis 2 Otos and newt ... nothing she is real chill only looking for snails. The females are more docile so I would suggest trying to sex them in the store if possible.
