Hows my bioload doing?
I have a 30 gallon tank with light plants at the time.
heres my stock: cherry/amano shrimps 8 cardinal tetras 3 siamese algae eaters 5 dwarf loaches (very small right, 2 cm in length) 4 german rams 3 zipper loaches i cut my co2 from the tank because last time i had a very large bioload fishes started to die slowly without signs of stress or disease and i came to the conclusion that my co2 may be the cause. ill be upgrading to a 50 gallon tank in a month or two but that will have to wait until i buff out the scratches from the tank so is my bioload too high? Ill be taking out the zipper loaches when i transfer tanks and i want to add otos. how many otos does it take to clean a 50 gallon? |

I agree. 4 rams can be too much for a 55gal even, depending on the fish in question and how much of the tank they claim as their territory during breeding...
Is the 50gal an acrylic or a glass tank? I'd probably stock 5-10 otos in a 50gal. Make sure to supplement their food with nice raw veggies from time to time, though.

oh i forgot to mention, i just added the rams in a month ago and waiting for a pair to form. after i will leave one pair in the 50 gallon which is acrylic. i also have a 25 gallon long thats also acrylic that will house the other 2 rams that didnt pair up and that tank will be my girlfriends. so do you think i need to remove any fishes from my 30 gallon right now or will this tank be fine, as long as the fishes live in harmony
