Default Why are my dwarf cichlids picking on eachother

I think it's the two females... once looks like she's in spawning coloration and kinda picking on the little bit smaller one... the male just hides and doesn't really stick with the both of them... at alll.

Because they are dwarf CICHLIDS.

As long as there isnt a threat to the fish's life I wouldnt be to worried.

Try adding a few dither fish to distract them from slamming each other.

10 gal for breeding heavily planted, waiting for the male to pair with one of the females but he doesn't move around much and I don't know if he's gonna ever chose one, he's pretty big too. compared to them at least

That tank is probably too small for even dwarf cichlids, IMHO. What kind do you have?

Generally if you have cichlids you're going to have aggression. If you try to put them in an area they feel is too small, you're going to see much MORE aggression than if they had what they feel is enough area to establish territories. If you want to minimize the attacks, another poster suggested dither fish (you could try guppies or small tetras), add more caves, and if none of this works, upgrade them to a larger tank.
