Algae Grower

Hi im looking to add 1 last fish to the tank, a nice yellow fish. My tank is a passive tank no aggression at all. The thing is though I can have any fin nippers and nothing flashy that might aggrivate my betta. I was hopeing for a yellow oto but unfortunatly they dont have any at my lfs.
It would be great if I could get some suggestions. Currently I have 1 pleco, 3 platies maybe 5 baby platies. 6 ghost shrimp, 4 panda cats, 10 neon tets, 1 betta, 1 turbo? snail, 3 hatchets. my tank is also 20H gallons and heavily planted. |

Planted Tank Obsessed

First thing that came to mind for me was the golden wonder killifish. Petco and/or Petsmart recently started carrying these fish regularly, and the males are a gorgeous solid yellow. They do stay near the top of the tank though, and they will eat smaller fish, so your hatchets would have to be a decent size. Might eat your neons too, but probably not. Here's a photo.

A Gold Ram might eat your shrimp....and probably wouldn't get along with the Betta.
You have quite a fish load now....and the Hatchets would do better with more, so I would go that route and not add another fish. If the Platies continue to breed, they will increase your fish load too. |
