Personally, I'm just going to get a dwarf puffer and start a nano. It's pretty unavoidable in a shrimp tank. When you drop a wafer in, the snails almost get to it faster than the shrimp.

I would recommend Dwarf Chain Loaches, if you can get them in your area. They are small-sized and keep that way: http://fishtale.wordpress.com/2008/0...chain-loaches/
