Got any veg in the fridge that's slightly old? Try putting in a lettuce leaf or a slice of cucumber (lengthwise) before lights out at nighttime, then remove it (and the 9 million hangers on) in the morning.

They are fun fish too. I put three juveniles in a 12 gallon and they eradicated the snails in a few weeks. Transferred them to a 60 after a couple of months.

I had a 10 gal tank that I kept snails in that I would give my loaches as treats. Then someone gave me a dwarf sunfish so I put it in the 10 gallon as a quarantine. In two days I could not find a single snail in this tank that was overrun with them.

Personally, I'm just going to get a dwarf puffer and start a nano. It's pretty unavoidable in a shrimp tank. When you drop a wafer in, the snails almost get to it faster than the shrimp.

I would recommend Dwarf Chain Loaches, if you can get them in your area. They are small-sized and keep that way: http://fishtale.wordpress.com/2008/0...chain-loaches/
