Rams and Spotted Puffer with PH of 6.0?
I wanted to get some german rams and a spotted dwarf puffer. But my ph swings between 6.4 and 6.0 during C02 injection. Is this too low for these types of fish?

Forget the dwarf puffer. The German rams should be ok as far as German rams go. They are not a hardy fish.
Bolivian Rams are a better choice. They are more hardy and not as shy as the German rams. If your tank is heavily planted, you may never see the German rams. |

I've got a GBR and it is very hardy. Water parameters went all over during my attack of hair algae and it lived through overdoses of excel. It is however, a very very very skitish fish. Only see the guy at feeding time or if i tip-toe into the room. If you have a large enough tank with less hiding spots than GBR's, you'll see them. good luck

I'm not sure what you mean by spotted dwarf puffer. Do you have a scientific name? In any case, it is not a fish you want to keep with GBR's, or anything for that matter. It is best in a species tank. Here is a site with info on true dwarf puffers: http://dwarfpuffers.com/
If you are thinking of a juvenile green spotted puffer, they get much larger, and are brackish. GBR's are not as delicate as they used to be. Most are tank bred nowadays. The actual pH is not as big a concern as keeping it stable. I think that your pH swing is fine.

Thanks for all the replies. I wanted the puffer because i have a snail problem and I need to get rid of my clown loach since he has ripped up my entire HC carpet.
