Apisto sellers

Well, I finally bit the bullet and bid on some of Apistodave's fish to find out he didn't have the fish listed in the aquabid auction.

I know of twofishguyz and southern apistos, are there any other sellers I should look at?

Not to pleased to find out the auctioned fish weren't available. There wasn't even a suggestion in the follow-up response for a substitute.

WHATS THAT ABOUT? No fish that are on auction is available? At least he should pull the or end the auction early!Come`on,i`m hearing more and more bad stuff regarding Dave. Also he is pretty "straightforward" and "up front"in his business practices if you know what i mean. You cant just string paying people though,IMHO

To be clear only some of his choices are available (box-o-pistos). He lists several in the same auction and says you can pick all one type or amongst the list. The ones the other family members had desired were listed, but he says they are not available.

Its just leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you see an auction, get all excited only to be told its not available.I`ve been pushing parts for 20 years/automotive/ and we always try to be accommodating if we make a mistake,or misrepresent something.I`m not saying Dave will not offer something, its just that he can end the auction if he runs out of some fish,
Dave

yes, He still has 4 auctions open with the same fish (A. hongsloi) he says is not available. I'm trying to cancel my bid, but that puts me off getting the same fish elsewhere. The only reason I know ahead of the auction ending that it is not available was I had inquired about the compatibility with it and a second choice.

I have heard good things about Southern Apistos and Two Fish Guyz. You also might want to look into Anubias Design too.

I've heard good things about Two Fish Guyz. I was going to buy from Southern Apistos since they are in FL, but emails I sent were never responded to! So I gave up. I bought 2 trios from Dave and should get them tomorrow. Fingers crossed I get what I ordered.

If Two Fish Guyz has what you are looking for, I'd give them a try. They have a website (www.twofishguyz.com I think) that I didn't know about until after I put bids on Dave's auctions.

Aquabid pulled my bid and I did just order from two fish guyz. They had been great about responding to my emails and are closer too (not that it will affect ship time). I would have gotten more fish from Dave for the same price, but right now interested in getting specific Apistos.

Two fish guyz already replied to a question about my order and what they are feeding. Great service so far, I hope the fish are equal to the service. Mine ship out next Monday.

My boys wanted the A. hongsloi; none of the other similar variants. I was trying to find another Apisto that I could take my chances and add to the same 75g. If I had gone with Dave's auction, there were more possibilities to play with for the same price (4 pairs is ~ the same price as 2 from TFG), but he didn't have the hongsloi listed in the auction.

I hear apistodave is indeed an expert, but difficult to deal with as a salesman.
