Any CA/SA cichlid experts?
I need an ID on this guy. He came into my LFS with a shipment of firemouths. He was about 1.75" at the time, and is now close to 4". Its been about a month. I really want to get him, but don't want to stick him in a 40g breeder if he's going to be 16" long one day. I was thinking he looked a lot like a Geophagus/Satanoperca, but after looking again, I've changed my mind.
He has red tips on his dorsal fins, sorry for the crummy picture. My cameras batteries were dying, and then my lens fogged up on me. ![]() Thanks guys. |

If he doubled in a month, and is 4", he is going to be large. My guess at least 12" +.
