Am I Overstocked?
I was thinking about perhaps getting 3x Rosy Barbs to help keep some of the hair algae at bay.
Am I already overstocked as is? There is still quite a bit of open swimming area as I have a lot of cover. Thoughts? thx. w. Stocking level depends on:
1. frequency of water changes you do 2. plant density 3. swimming space for all inhabitants A tank with few fish will be overstocked if you never do water changes and there are no plants. A tank with a lot of fish will not be overstocked if you do frequent water changes and there are a lot of plants. As for swimming space: For example: 20 bottom-dwelling plecos in a 10 g would be too much because there is not enough bottom space for them all, but clean if you do a lot of water changes. 5 plecos, 10 cardinals and 5 hatchetfish would be the same # of fish but they have their own swimming space. That was an extreme example lol. |
