10 Gallon stocking?

I have a 10 gallon tank thats pretty densley planted. Right now I have 9 neon tetras and an oto. Do you think I would be able to add any more fish to the tank? If so what kind and how many?

more otos?
As long as you ensure water changes are regular and large.
How you are currently though I would suggest is fine, the higher the fish load the larger the chance of algae.

Do you think I could add mayb 3 cory cats to the tank? I have three in another tank, but I would like to transfer them to my planted tank if at all possible.

I would say yes if the tank has a lot of plant mass and you do regular, weekly water changes.

Yes i do about 30% water changes per month. I may wait until my plants get growing well again before I add them. I just replanted the tank and added some new plants. I'll give it a month or two before I add the cories.

The old way of thinking, that old water is better is somewhat outmoded these days, at least 30% once a week would be my recommendation.
that is unless your running low tech?
If so this question will need to be answered by someone more knowledgeable in that area.

I think I would add more otos vs adding the cories. Your oto would be happier with some friends.

I have heard that you should only have 1 oto per 10 gallons of water. Do you think it would be OK, to add more?

I would also add at least 2 more otos. They don't like being alone.

3 corys would be too big for a 10 gallon, unless you get dwarfs.

that is if you don't supplement diets

i don't really like rules like this, they're a guideline for "beginners" to follow really and are quite arbitrarily determined!

even if you only had 1 oto in a 10 gallon tank, and you never supplemented them with algae wafers and what not, they would starve

personally i'd increase the water changes to maybe twice a month if you do add more otos, just as a precaution

Can you feed otos algae waffers like you feed plecos? I have been dropping one in my planted tank 1-2 times per week. What else is there you can supplement their diet with?
