is thier something wrong with my cardinal tetras??

I got 5 cardinal tetras two days ago and I have noticed that, at night thier red strip is almost gone and their 'blue strip' turns purple..
Is their something wrong? Or will this pass when they get older?

Thanks for help

some weird type of camouflage maybe? mine do the same thing, but they retain their bright colors during the day even though i have them on white substrate.

mine are super bright during the day.
If I turn the light on, after it's been off a while, they are almost white

I think its taking a step toward evolution. J/k lol yeah they usually turn pale when you turn the light off, the color comes back when they are more active swimming around.

My neons when at night and the lights are turned off, they look white with no color almost. Once day comes and the lights are turned on, they get their color back within 5 to 10 minutes. I think it should be the same with cardinals.

Mine too and mine have been perfectly healthy for 2 months. sometimes it is the way you look at the fish too because of the way the light hits them.

If I am standing up and looking at my fish downward they look kind of pale. If I stoop down eye level to them you can really see the color stand out nice and bright.
